Overview
MotorBit OBD2 ("the App") is a diagnostic application that allows users to communicate with their vehicles via the OBD-II protocol.
Your privacy is important to us, and this policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.
Important:Under no circumstances shall our application be held liable for any mechanical, electronic, or software-related failures, damages, performance loss, or potential hazardous situations that may occur in vehicles.
Data Collected
1. Device and Vehicle Data (Local)
The app stores the following data only locally on your device:
- OBD-II Sensor Data (RPM, speed, temperature, fuel consumption, etc.)
- Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)
- Vehicle Information (VIN number, ECU information, calibration IDs)
- Statistics (driving distance, average speed, fuel consumption, etc.)
- Custom PIDs (user-defined parameters)
- Sensor data saved in CSV / JSON format
Important: This data is never sent to our servers or shared with third parties.
All data is stored only on the user's device.
2. Bluetooth Connection
The app requires Bluetooth permission to connect to the OBD-II adapter:
- Scans and connects to Bluetooth LE (4.0+) compatible OBD-II adapters
- Supports MFi (Made for iPhone) certified devices
Bluetooth is used solely for communication with the OBD-II device.
There is no location tracking or interaction with other devices.
3. In-App Purchases
MotorBit Pro purchases are processed through Apple's StoreKit system.
- Payment information is managed by Apple
- The app only checks the purchase status (Pro active/inactive)
- The developer has no access to payment information
Data Usage
The collected data is used only for the following purposes:
- Vehicle diagnostics and displaying OBD-II data
- Performance and fuel analysis
- Generating reports upon user request (PDF / CSV)
- Storing app settings
Data Sharing
MotorBit OBD2 does not share any user data with third parties.
- No advertising networks are used
- No analytics services are used
- Data is not sold or rented
- No server-side data storage
Data Security
- Data is stored in iOS secure storage (Sandbox)
- Apple security standards are applied
- The app does not require an internet connection (except for IAP transactions)
User Rights
Users have full control over their data:
- All data can be deleted within the app
- All data is removed from the device when the app is uninstalled
- Bluetooth permission can be revoked from iOS settings
Children's Privacy
The app is not intended for users under the age of 18 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Policy Changes
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes may be notified within the app.
